PENANG LIGHTS - Evening Tour
Full Itinerary
In Penang, hawker food is as delicious as the finest gourmet experience in any cities around the world. Many Malaysians hold Penang as the top food destination in the region, not because of some fancy restaurants but rather for their humble and old-fashioned and yet colourful and exotic hawker food stalls that line the streets.
Therefore, upon pickup from your hotel by a knowledgeable local guide, your evening tour will begin with a sample of delicious local delights at an open-air hawker center in historical Georgetown. Taste a variety of Penang dishes such as the popular ‘Satay’ sticks of barbecued meat or ‘Char Koay Teow’, flat rice noodles fried with seafood.
Relax after dinner by taking a trishaw ride through the heart of UNESCO sites in Georgetown. Once the most common mode of transport, the trishaw (also known as “beca” by the locals in Malay language) is the ‘King of The Road’ and is still very much alive today, although they exist these days mainly as a novelty for tourists to enjoy.

We then proceed on a scenic drive across the award winning Penang Bridge to Butterworth. Inaugurated in 1984, this landmark bridge was the longest in Asia and the 5th largest in the world, spanning a total length of 13.5 km (8.4 miles) at the time it was officially opened for operation to traffic.

We will then take you on a nostalgic ferry ride across the Straits of Malacca returning back to the island. In operation since the 1920s, this ferry ride is the oldest ferry service in Malaysia. The ride will take you back to what it was like to travel along the Malay Peninsula in the past, but you will also see the 21st century skyline of Penang lit up at night from the ferry.
