DAY CRUISE - An Alternate Route to Penang National Park

This half day tour starts with a complimentary hotel pick-up. You will be accompanied from that point onwards by an experienced local guide.

The start of this tour will take you through to Balik Pulau (literally translated as the ‘back of the island’) via the scenic Northwest Route. There are photo opportunities along the way before a quick visit to a biological goat farm. You can hug and feed a goat or participate in milking one of them.

We will approach the entrance to the gate of Penang National Park by boat. This is the only way to access the National Park from this, more remote and spectacular, side of the Park, also known as Gate II, at Kuala Sungai Pinang. After a quick registration at the National Park Office, you will be invited to board a licensed charter boat operated by an experienced local skipper.

Along the cruise, you will be taken through the west coast estuary via a mangrove swamp. Prepare to be dazzled by the close encounters with astounding varieties of rare plants, birds and other wildlife.

A quick stop at the nearby Kerachut Beach will bring you face to face with a local conservation effort for the endangered turtles. Don’t forget to take in some breathtaking scenery at the Meromitic Lake nearby before we cruise to the North-Western tip of Penang Island.

The tour finishes with a picnic lunch at Teluk Kampi – experience the only undisturbed beach left in Penang at your leisure, while enjoying a 3-course picnic meal consisting of salad, gourmet sandwiches and “traditional Malay kuih” dessert, served with cold and hot drinks.
